Bitcoin, an IFA’s perspective

Bitcoin remains outside of the mainstream of investment despite the column inches it commands. In the UK, independent financial advisers are not allowed to deal with crytocurrencies because they fall outside of the jurisdiction of the UK financial authorities.

Russel Waller, an IFA at Fairstone, explains the current situation.

The ongoing volatility in the value of bitcoin is unlikely to win over the UK the public that they are a reliable investment.

Whether the originators of bitcoin want to be seen among the mix for those planning for a secure retirement is unclear. It is likely they would prefer a little more stability than their creation is currently showing.
